There are so many promotional options out there--the good, the bad, and the ugly--that it's a juggling act for authors to choose which ones are worth the time and effort to expend precious time on. I've found if I don't connect in a personal "I feel good about spending my time on XYZ promotional site", I simply don't utilize it even though I have an account, and I know it would be worth my time/effort to promote there.
